Migraines and Headaches
One of the most common misperceptions about chiropractic is that it is a treatment for back pain and neck cricks. Although chiropractors often help people recover from these maladies, these patients only represent a small group of what Upper Cervical Chiropractors help with. Upper Cervical Doctors, like Dr. Bagley, understand that the body is self-regulating and is capable of healing, when free from interference in the central nervous system which is protected by the spine and skull.
Migraines can be debilitating and life altering. There are estimates that 28 million Americans suffer with migraines and it tends to be more women than men. Migraines can last hours and even days and frequently impede a person’s ability to work and can even effect family relationships. According to the medical community, the exact causes of migraines are unknown, yet in 1995 in Germany Dr. Hans Christoph Diener studied the relationship to the brainstem. He found that the MRI scans of the brain revealed a possible migraine “generator” in the brainstem. Chiropractors have been seeing migraine and headache sufferers for over 100 years and the cause can be poor spinal positioning in the upper cervical spine. The upper cervical spine surrounds a portion of the brainstem.
One of our patients, Cynthia Coleman of Kirkwood had this to say, “Before coming into Precision Chiropractic, I had constant migraines which kept me from living my life. I also had back pain, shoulder pain, jaw clicking… I was a mess. I almost lost my job because of how many days I was calling in sick. I haven’t taken a sick day from work since starting care. Now, I feel amazing! The migraines are gone and other an occasional headache, I feel like a new person.”
Dr. Bagley has dedicated her life to becoming an expert in brainstem health. She will do a complete history to find out what risk factors you have for migraines and other problems. After a complete and painless exam she will determine if your problems could be related to nerve stress. She says, “The procedure to correct the misalignment is painless and gentle, and when the bones are in place the brain-body communication is unkinked and your body’s ability to heal and adapt is restored.” Call us today for your consultation to find out if upper cervical chiropractic care is right for you.
